ELIZABETH

09/27/03
A poem I wrote for my beautiful wife.

Had I known when young,
you were beyond the sun,
in the evening when it set.

Had I known when young,
you were beyond the sun,
my love I would have kept.

If life had been new,
when I had met you,
so different would it be.

Like morning grass,
or seas of glass,
your love would set me free.

Though years have gone,
while waiting on,
the summer of our dreams.

The day will come,
when the rising sun,
brings me to your knees.
